Thunder Bay, ON (July 17, 2014) Brandon Harkins of Scottsdale, AZ set a course record from the gold tees in the first round of the Staal Foundation Open presented by Tbaytel at Whitewater Golf Club today.

Brandon was in the 22nd group of the first round teeing off at 8:20 a.m. today along with Phillip Francis of Scottsdale, AZ and Jamison Sindelar of Horseheads, NY.

Born July 13, 1986 in Lafayette, California, he attended California State University and turned pro in 2010. Highest finish for this season is T13.

Harkins birdied 8 holes and pared the remaining holes for the record setting round of 64.
